I wasted a lot of time on this walking bath. As you pushed it the arms went backwards and forwards. However, I did learn a lot about materials and the mechanics of making. I was working a lot with Jim Turner, a tutor, who was a sort of jobbing Sculptor, along with his wife, Pat. We built a medieval scaffold with figures in a church/museum in York, two large mermaid figures to go either side of the paddles on a Mississippi river boat, and the biggest thing we did, casting a cliff face in Scotland and rebuilding it in the Geological Museum in London.

Coming into my second year I decided to try and become more serious, more thoughtful in the work.
